Clowndance- Doctoral research project
In 2026 I completed my practice research PhD at De Montfort University, entitled Clowndance: Convergences in contemporary dance and theatrical clowning for pleasure-led performer training. As part of the research I ran workshops and short courses for dance and movement practitioners, clowns, actors and comedians, and students at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and the University of Derby. Towards Toddlerhood
This is an AHRC-funded project run by Sheffield Hallam University, Manchester Metropolitan University and Middlesex University, asking: How can arts practice generate critical conversations with, and alternative understandings of, toddlerhood? As one of the artists invited to collaborate on the project, I have led movement provocations in a workshop for early years researchers and practitioners, and worked with Christina MacRae (Visiting Research Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University) to deliver an arts-led intervention at a Manchester stay and play. To find out more about the project visit Towards Toddlerhood. |

Inspirational, physically and mentally stimulating and great fun
I've really enjoyed learning to connect with others using my body, letting go of embarrassment and shame
Thank you so much for the many opportunities to express and be brave. I've come away with so much more than expected.
