I’m a freelance movement director, director and choreographer, specialising in theatre for young audiences. I’m based in Derbyshire and London.

I trained in contemporary dance and choreography at Laban, and on the MA Movement programme at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

As a movement practitioner, I work with actors to develop characterisation from the inside out, including specific physical traits like ageing and playing multiple roles, and I work with directors to develop a coherent and compelling physical language for the play. I also create dances, direct puppetry and make scene changes look great.

The work I make as a director is diverse and ever-changing, sometimes dark, often silly, always full of joy and humanity.

As well as my theatre work, I lecture and run workshops at a range of levels including vocational drama and dance training, professional development, and in educational and community settings. I also work with 3D animators, teaching human and animal movement, character animation and movement for motion capture.

I’m the co-Artistic Director of WinterWalker, a Derbyshire-based physical theatre company specialising in work for families and young audiences.
